Weekly Grocery Shopping Cost?

I saw this article on buzzfeed and thought to myself on average how much do I spend on groceries weekly.  We are 2 adults plus my 2 yr old so I looked at my receipt and I had spent $40 at Shop Rite.  I buy meat in bulk and freeze it into individual servings.  We dont eat a ton of read meat so that also saves us money. I tend to only shop for items on sale and will plan my weekly menu based on that as well unless its a special occasion or I want to make something in particular.  This weeks menu is chicken drum sticks with grilled asparagus, skirt steak with broccoli and chicken thighs with roasted cauliflower.

I was curious to find out how much everyone else spends on groceries weekly???

  1. Brianna says:

We are currently trying to stick to $750/month for groceries, which includes eating out at restaurants as well as grocery store purchases.

  2. trying to stick to $60/week grocery cost. I am a single person and I do not cook much (or eat out). It does not include cleaning and personal care products (I have an additional $100/month budget for them)

  3. I was just thinking about this the other day. I’m guessing we average 250-300ish a month. That would include toiletries, household supplies etc. Some months may be more but I doubt it’s ever less.
